No match?
That's the good part.

A hundred years of pattern-book knives means some curves simply aren't on anyone's rack any more. Post us an offcut and we grind a fresh knife to your exact profile — milled and on its way seven days after your sample lands. The knife stays on file, so the next metre is a reorder.

£42/metre, primed MDF£120 knife — waived over 25m7 days from sample receipt

We match any skirting board. Guaranteed. If your profile isn't one of the knives in our library, post us an offcut. We grind a knife to your exact section and mill it in seven days — and the knife stays on file, so the next metre is never a problem again.

How a bespoke run works

  1. 1 · Scan first (2 min)

The cut-end scan captures your curve to ±0.5mm and attaches it to this enquiry automatically. We check it against the library one more time before any steel is ground.

  2. 2 · Post the offcut

A 10cm offcut in a padded envelope is perfect. The physical sample is the contract — we verify it against your scan on a shadowgraph before cutting the knife.

  3. 3 · Seven days

Knife ground, first lengths milled, quality-checked against your sample, shipped. You approve a traced overlay by email before we cut the full order.

How to post your sample

  1. 1 · Cut a short offcut — 10cm long, full height, any condition.
  2. 2 · Put it in a large-letter envelope — under 25mm thick, under 750g.
  3. 3 · Write your reference on the back of the offcut in pen — it's how we marry it to your scan the moment it lands.
  4. 4 · Show the QR at any Post Office. They print the label — you need nothing else.
  5. 5 · Tracked to our workshop. Bespoke knives are ground within 7 days of your sample arriving.

Your postage QR appears the moment you've paid — no printer, no waiting.

It must fit a large-letter envelope: no thicker than 25mm, no heavier than 750g. A 10cm offcut of any board fits — a hand-width is all the knife needs. Please don't send long lengths; they'll be refused at the counter.

Prefer pencil and paper? Print the trace sheet — trace the offcut and photograph the page.
