From stock, the SkirtingMatch library cuts Pencil Round (3mm moulded head) and Bullnose (9mm moulded head), milled to order in solid pine at six heights from £18 to £36 per metre, in 5–7 working days.

How to recognise a Modern skirting board
Modern skirting is mostly about a flat face and a softened top edge. What you'll commonly find:
- A flat, square face with a rounded top edge: a small pencil round or a fuller bullnose.
- Lower boards than in period houses.
- Often MDF in new builds. We mill solid pine, which takes paint the same way and can be repaired and re-profiled.
- Merchants also sell chamfered, cove and V-groove boards, often reversible with a different profile on each face.
Names and dates only get you close. A match comes from the section itself, measured at a cut end from the top edge down. How to match an old skirting board

Matching architrave
Pencil Round and Bullnose are also milled as matching architrave at 57mm (£14/m), 70mm (£16/m) and 95mm (£18/m), in the same solid pine. Architrave to any other profile is a bespoke run from your offcut.
Questions
What's the difference between pencil round and bullnose skirting?
Both have a flat face and a rounded top edge. A pencil round only softens the corner (3mm on our cutter); a bullnose rounds the whole shoulder (9mm). If you can see the curve from across the room, it's bullnose.
Do you sell MDF skirting?
No. Every SkirtingMatch length is milled from solid pine, sanded and left unfinished for your own paint or finish.
Can you match a chamfered or V-groove skirting board?
