How to recognise an Art Deco skirting board
Art Deco skirting swaps curves for straight lines. What you'll commonly find:
- Rectilinear steps instead of beads and hollows.
- Bevelled or square shoulders on the steps.
- Common in interwar mansion blocks and flats.
- Many 1930s semis have plainer boards, closer to a torus, an ogee or a lamb's-tongue-like sweep, so measure your board before assuming it's stepped.

Art Deco skirting is usually built from straight steps with bevelled or square shoulders rather than curves. The SkirtingMatch Deco Step has three rectilinear steps with bevelled shoulders and a 30mm moulded head.
My 1930s house has skirting that isn't stepped. Can you match it?
